Notable Events |
Nov. 86: Major extended Body Search undertaken by the Club, in an effort to retrieve the remains of an 11 year old boy who was drowned in the Tailrace at Parteen. |

9–12–86: Highly successful Club Party in the Ark Tavern . Mike Kerrison ( Mr.Twinkle–Toes himself), is reported to have left Fred Astaire in the shade on the night. Mine Host for the night was Mr. Ark himself, Frank Dineen. |

19–12–86: Garda Bill O Brien hosted a social evening in the Tailrace Bar, on behalf of Parteen Residents who made a sizable donation to Club funds as a gesture of appreciation for the Club s efforts in the Body Search, referred to above. Two new V.H.F. radios were bought for the Club as a result. |

Jan 87: The Limerick Leader presented a Marine Radio Unit to go with above, so now the Club has a |
complete Radio Communication System. |

Mike Hynes and Mike Kerrison soon ran two very well attended VHF Radio Operation Courses |

Jan. 87: Pat McCoole gave a most interesting and very well attended slide presentation on diving in Cuba. |

6–1–87: Guinness Hospitality Reception to mark the purchase of the radio communication unit. 36 people attended. Seamus Flannery organized that one! |

Club now has very nice jackets with club crest for sale. |

April 87: Chairman Bob, had a close call medically speaking, when an old back problem flared up and he had to have an emergency operation. Thankfully he is now well on the road to recovery. |

Terrible tragedy in Kilkee, where two members of the Local Club were tragically drowned. Ian Benson and J.J.Harrington were well known to members of L.S.A.C. and their sudden loss shocked and saddened the whole diving community. |

16,17–5–87: L.S.A.C. provided Boat Cover for Limerick Regatta in O Brien s Bridge. |

5–5–87: John Breen s Lecture in Thomond College. Sadly the Tarantula has expired but, happily, there is a new resident, a Preying Mantis! |

Whit Weekend 87: Inishboffin .yes, magic! |

June 87: Two new Club Divers for the Club, Seamus Flannery and John O Hara. |

12–6–87: Barbacue in Curragh Chase. |
 |
11,12–7–87: Good Diving weekend in Valentia. |
 |
July 87: Four new rescue divers qualified, Ian Hurley, John Allen, Brian Kearney and Joe Earls. |

August w/e: Achill, fully booked up, as usual. |

5,6–9–87: Diver Cox n test, John Allen, Joe Earls and Brian Kearney were successful. |

27–9–87: Big excursion of L.S.A.C. divers to Dingle to dive with Fungie. This outing was organized by Mike Hynes who liased with Tralee S.A.C. This was a great family day out. |
