21–10–82: E.G.M. held in Olde Tom due to the failure of the official A.G.M. to elect a committee. The above noted officials were duly voted in at this meeting. |

4–11–82: Outrageously successful Horror Party held in Parkway. |

5–2–83: Another outstanding performance in this year s National Gala, in Tralee. The Club finished 2nd overall, in competition for the Harp Trophy as well as coming away with the gold medal in the Octopush, Jimmy Conners and Tony Cusack starring here. Silver Medals in the Men s Aqualung Race (Jim Browne, Joe Harte, Robert Carroll, and Tommy Moloney) and Ladies Squad ( Ute O Gorman, Geraldine Keating and Maeve Callanan). Ute also won Bronze for Ladies Individual. The Irish Sub Aqua had chartered a train to attend this event! |

March 1983: C. F.T. introduced regulations making the wearing of A.B.L.J. s (adjustable buoyancy life– jackets) compulsory for all divers. |

A new 16 ft. Gordon Inflatable with 30 h.p. Yamaha engine added to the club s stable of the other Inflatable and Assault Craft! |

April 83: Diving Officer, Pat McCoole, announces his outline diving programme for the season, which includes outings to Doonbeg, Kilkee, Inis Shear, Sherkin, Maharees, and Killary. |

16–4–83: New Club Divers, Clodagh Mc Coole and Joe Harte. |

June Weekend saw the club visiting Sherkin Island. |

12–6–83: Mike Hynes and Pat O Brien organized a great day of Underwater Orienteering and Fun Swim in Kilkee. |

A procedure was drawn up by committee to enable Members to apply for the personal use of one of the Club Boats at a fee of £25 ( 32) for a weekend and £12 ( 15) for a day. |

August Weekend 1983: Terrible drowning tragedy in Doolin, in which 7 swimmers and 1 one photographer attending a Rock Music Festival lost their lives. Experienced divers from L.S.A.C. Club, as well as from many other Clubs took part in the body search. Sea conditions were so bad during the search duration that the Ennis Club boat was very badly damaged in the heavy swells. |

26–9–83: Sponsored 5 mile Fin Swim from O Brien s Bridge finishing at Blackwater Bridge, in aid of Irish Kidney Association. Commerative certificates were presented to those who completed the course. |
